The Future Me Guy
" When you know who you are, you will know what to do"
The human mind is amazing! It has the capacity to achieve almost anything, but it also has the ability to be self destructive. For most of us, we do not spend a lot of time thinking about our thinking, but the remarkable capacity of our brain is that it is transformational and mental agency can be strengthened. This has become my passion. To lead others in their ability to renew their mind in a way that strengthens their mental agency
My Mother Barbara Collins
Interview - June 2013
For year's my Mother had symptom's of confusion, forgetfulness and disorientation and yet she never complained about her condition. Over time things got worse and it wasn't until she went through a series of cutting edge tests that we first heard the name "Alzheimer's" attached to her condition. Little did I know that this would lead me into a 12 year journey that saw both my Mother and Sister die from this deadly disease.
My Sister Cathie Knight
Interview - June 2013
Cathie was my hero. She was a RN at one of the major hospitals in the Columbus, Ohio area and when she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, she was fearless. In fact she was one of three volunteers in the world to undergo an experimental procedure at Ohio State University which attempted to use pacemaker technology to stimulate the brain. This video was taken right after her surgery and she was her typical, happy self as she looked at the journey of life with a smile on her face all the time.
My Mental Meltdown
2018-2019
Right after Cathie passed away, I found myself starting to go down a deep and what seemed an endless valley of mental darkest that really culminated in 2018 with a series of events which left me with little or no mental agency in early 2019. I sought out anyone that I could find to try to understand what I was going through which includes friends, pastors, mental health specialists and even joined several recovery groups thinking that some 12 step program would give me some clarity. Nothing worked. But on August 19, 2019 things began to shift. Diane and I went to watch a movie called Overcomer which was about our identity. I had never even considered this as a possible cause to many of my mental challenges and after year's of deep work around the subject of our identity, it became clear to me that what I had experienced in 2018 was in fact a massive identity crisis. This set me on the path to begin to find a way to lead others in the discovery of their true identity which is how the Future Me Now platform got started.
